Handcrafted Wrecking Bars
Since 1942, Svedbro Smide has manufactured wrecking bars, also known as crowbars. Each wrecking bar is hand forged, tempered, ground, and hand painted, all by craftsmen who know and understand the balance between function and design.

Made to Last
It all starts with a special alloy spring steel that’s heated to 2192°F. The blacksmith quickly and skillfully handles the warm, glowing steel and waltzes it out to octagonal bars. When the bar is ready, the steel is heated once again, and the hoof extract and chisel are forged. Once cooled, the parts are roughened and heated once more so the blacksmith can bend out the swan neck.
Strength in Steel
After the wrecking bar is forged, it’s hardened by a heating and cooling process. The switch in temperature causes the steel to become even harder. Hardening the entire bar enhances the springy property which provides better flexibility and strength. Svedbro Smide only uses water for cooling (vs oil or lead) as it is the most environmentally friendly option.
All wrecking bars are quality checked before they leave the factory to ensure they are of premium quality. Each bar carries a 20 year warranty against manufacturing defects.
